Not true, you got the answer that would keep you from calling them back for another month. It's not as absolute as they say it is..

Yeah that's not true I had one arrest in 2003 for driving while license suspended and mine only took 42 days to get to mailed status. Hang in there, every apps wait time is different.

RIGHT!? I got used to checking the DPS website as a means to entertain myself when bored. Now I don't know what to do kinda... lol

First, yes I have a new screen name, my previous one was unacceptable. At any rate, after I called DPS to question the time span of my license compared to others and they told me it would take the full 60 days due to my record my status changed to Manufacturing Pending on 2/24. I guess Manufacturing and Mailed are next.

I was also told by DPS that any action taken will not show up for 24 hours on the internet. So if they change your status to Mailed today then tomorrow the internet will indicate it as mailed. Take that with a grain of salt. I have figured out there is no reason to call because you will not get a straight answer and there is no logic to the process.

Mailed: 1/16/2013
Received CHL today in the mail: 2/25/2013

Took the class i think jan 7th. Fingerprinted about the 14th.
Mailed the next day. See as of today background approved.
Hopefully will have in hand by next week.

How about strap on your EDC and go for a walk! I'll still be stuck here on my computer checking DPS every two hours.

For what it's worth I checked online this morning around 5:30am and it still showed Manufacturing pending. I took another look @ 7am and it showed to be in Manufacturing so some time between 5:30 and 7 there was a status update. My wife who's packet was sent in the same day, same method updated to Documents recieved 2 days before mine and her's still shows pending background and we both have clean records so I guess it comes down to who has it on thier desk.

Hello, everyone. Newbee here, although I've been visiting the site for a couple months now. Ive completed all my steps and hand delivered my packet to the Austin post office where the Dps P.O. box is. This was done on Jan 31. So Im assuming that dps received it on the 1st of Feb. No later than the 4th of Feb.
I still havent gotten an update yet. My application may take longer because they will have to review my certified dispositions on some old criminal cases. I had a phase fresh out of high school where I pretty much acted like a real idiot. All that was over 18-20 years ago. Ive read the chl statutes a million times. I believe that im all clear now of anything that may disqualify me. Now after over 3 weeks im getting super antcy looking for a status change. I hope the background check doesnt take long. They have every court document right in their hands. Ive never had contact with any other law enforcement agency other than right here in travis county. My Nics check always takes forever. I will keep everyone up to date!

Well 3 weeks to the day after filling my last paper work, I finally got an update this morning. This is the first status of any sort to show up and it says background under review. I couldn't believe my eyes.

My status changed to mailed today. 48 days from putting it in the mailbox. Now I can stop looking at the DPS website and start checking the mailbox.
