according to texas highway dept. there is a hiring freeze and doesn't know when it will be lifted. It does make you wonder if all departments are are doing the same. I understand the waiting period.

Mailed app: 3/3/2008
Received pin: 4/29/2008................58 days

I mailed apps for my two sons, wife, and I all on the same day. All are showing "processing" on the web site........

My yougest son receieved his plastic on Friday, May 23......83 days

Guess they didn't realize who paid for the courses and apps or they would have processed ME first
It must be close for the other three of us (crossed fingers!)

riverrat, you should be close, seems 75-90 days seems to be the average lately.

Dropped it in the mail today. Will update as I get info.

Emailed DPS for status of application this morning, Just received email back saying. "Your application will be mailed in the next 3-4 weeks."
That will make it about 70 to 80 days from start date.

it was 90 days to the day from the day it was mailed to the day i got my plastic
yeah i know that doesnt help you but just try not to think about it

That reply does not seem to match your circumstances. According to your signature, you already received your application and mailed it back to them. Why would they need to mail it again? I bet they are looking at the same page we are when we send an email inquiry. Those folks have not a clue as to what is going on down there.

By my count it's day 83. Status: "packet mailed to applicant"

Hasn't changed. The days just keep ticking by.

I was thinking the same. But who knows. After reading some of the other post. The time line would be about right for getting my card. But watch it will show completed next week and I'll have it in hand.

I mailed my application packet April 29 could have done it sooner but I paid fee online and filled out paper work online. May 23 status changed to processing application. 20 buisness days from mailing application. Hope the rest of the wait goes just as quick.
