Zimmerman says the shooting was self defense. According to information released on the Sanford city website, Zimmerman said he was going back to his SUV when he was attacked by the teen.

Sanford police say Zimmerman was bloody in his face and head, and the back of his shirt was wet and had grass stains, indicating a struggle took place before the shooting.

Not sure if this is true, but it was posted in the comments section. I heard about several time about Zimmerman outweighing Trayvon, but 6'3" is pretty tall.

Couple details not mentioned by the lamestreamed media: George Zimmerman is 5'2" and 250 lbs, Trayvon was a 6'3" athletic kid. Clearly, Trayvon had the physique to overwhelm and attack Zimmerman, which he did what he could do to defend himself: shoot the attacking thug.

In addition, it sounds like Martin expired before the EMTs arrived, even though multiple neighbors had 911 on the phone when the shot was fired. If you haven't already, maybe this is a good time to think about ability to render self-aid until the EMTs come.

I heard it was a kel tec 9mm. This case is real muddy. But the additional witness, and the wounds to mr. Zimmerman at least tell us why he was not arrested. Guess we had just all better sit tight here. Too bad the screaming sillies like al won't do the same.

I don't know of any case where the indictment was dismissed because the defendant could not get a fair trial. I know there have been many changes of venue, but if you know of any cases where the charges were dismissed and the defendant was not tried, I would be glad to read about them.

I will try to find and post the incident but I do remember a president making remarks on a case and basically stated the defendant was guilty. There was a huge flap over this and the defendants lawyer tried to use this. Don’t remember the outcome.

Looks like we now have a witness that backs up Zimmerman's version.

I just can’t see this guy getting any kind of justice. The FBI is looking into it and since the POTUS has already so much as stated he thinks it was a racial killing, I imagine the FBI will find something to please the “boss”.

If it was not a just shoot, he should pay. If it was, and even if he is found not guilty in a court, there will be people that won’t accept the verdict and he will be hounded the rest of his life. It also sounds to me like the guy’s lawyer leaves a lot to be desired.

This witness who apparently was at the scene originally when police arrived said the man screaming was Zimmerman and that Trayvon was on top of him beating him.

So obviously the problem here is that people being beaten should not have the opportunity to shoot their attackers. If there were no guns, Trayvon would be alive today.

So he is a "thug" because he is black, I assume thats what your saying, as I'm sure that if you were followed by someone late at night you wouldn't feel threatened at all nor take any actions to defend yourself.

I'm not saying we've never posed for stupid pictures in the past, or that it makes it ok to be shot, but the media is really doing a bang up job on this.

Yep! Looks like a thug to me! Shirtless, double bird flipping, pants sagging thug! Has nothing to do with skin color - everything to do with poor parenting and a general disrespect for others.

So much for the whole size debate. 6'2" 170 lb 10% body fat (if that) beats 5'2" 250 lb pillsberry doughboy everyday of the week.
