I mailed it off Jan. 24 and I forgot to fill out a section of the application, they sent the form back to me and I mailed it out last Saturday and it still shows my application as "Incomplete, notice mailed to me"

Just for anyone looking for timing (I know I've been checking this forum daily):
Mailed Package & Fingerprinted: 1/28
Status showed online: 2/12
Background check cleared: 2/25 (exactly 4 weeks from mailing date)
Assuming another week or two for manufacture/mailing, looks like they are running around 5 weeks or so door to door (at least in my case).

it takes a while for your online status to be updated. they received my packet on Jan 6th but i didn't see a change in status until about the 11th IIRC.

Hope it doesn't add another month. That's what sort of cheeses me a bit. In the other thread Cotton says that DPS doesn't NEED the prints in the first place. So if they're not needed, why have an 'accept/reject' criteria for them in the first place? They could collect the prints, but just say "yeah, those look like prints" and go on.

My packet was received in Austin the same day as yours. My fingerprints were good, but my background check is still under review. I don't think you lost any time. The background check should be complete any day now. That's my optimistic inner voice talking, I won't tell you what the pessimistic voice said.

My background took about 45 days. Not sure why, but this morning's status check shows that it is now being manufactured.

Plastic came in the mail yesterday. So from class on Jan 15th, to pkg in DPS possesion on Jan 20th, to plastic in hand on Feb 28th, 45 calendar days from class to plastic in hand. Now to get my wally walk in.

Been meaning to post to this thread before now but haven't had the chance. Just to help out... completed my classwork and online app in December.... mailed off paperwork on January 17. Took about a week to show updates....
Plastic mailed on February 23
Plastic received on February 28.
Total number of days door to door: 42
