Recently (7 months) moved to Boerne from No. California, and darned glad to be here. Conservative, married, empty-nest, 57 Years old. I have instructed basic rifle marksmanship with the Appleseed Project both here and in CA.
Everyday carry is a G20 10mm in a Blade-Tech UCH.
Favorite firearm is my M1 Garand, born the same month and year as me.
Favorite CHL quote, “You can always tell if I’m carrying. Unless I have a beer in my hand, I am.”
Favorite Founders quote, “If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Speech at the Philadelphia State House, August 1, 1776
I welcome p.m.’s from Boerne area folks interested in shooting, fishing, conservative politics.

I am MrBrightside and I am here because I met Papa and Bad Apple today. We struck up a conversation - they told me to come here to meet like minded Texans.
So hello!

Welcome! It was nice meeting you yesterday.
Also, my son's forum name is RottenApple. That's OK. We didn't visit very long.
Thanks for letting me shoot your Glock (36?). I was pleasantly surprised!

It was nice to meet you both too.
It is a Glock 36, the red-haired step-child of the Glock family but I like it.
And thanks for letting me shoot your 1911 - nothing quite like the trigger on a nicely fettled 1911...

Well folks, I'm new to the forum. I've included some info below. I've been out of pistol shooting for a while. Troubled times lately have led to lot of uncertainty. However, we recently vowed not to be uncertain about our safety or the safety of our two young daughters. My wife and I are now liscensed and actively pursuing handgun training. I rejoined the local gun club (thanks Longtooth for the orientation) and I'm looking forward to developing the skills necessary to be safe, proficient and effective.
Age: 40
Gender: Male
Profession/school status: Professional Engineer (State of Texas)
Marital status: Married for 10 years
Years CHL: Well it's complicated. I had a CHL for a long time and ultimately let it expire for several reasons. I just went back through the process.
Texas State Representative House District: 12
Carry guns/equipment: 1911, Glock 19, Kahr CW9

Found the Forum by accident, was doing a Google search and it popped up. Wish I had found it sooner, tons of fantastic information here. I have been a gun owner for years. Used to do a lot of shooting when in the military stationed in Europe. With the economy being so bad and the constant news stories about the ever escalating violence here in San Antonio, I decided to take the CHL class so that I could carry.
Current weapon is a Glock 22 but I am trying to figure out what to get to carry concealed. I love the Kimber's but they are pretty pricey.

Hello everyone. I finally decided to stop just reading and join the party.
Let's see. I'm male, 41, I like walks on the beach and poetry... Wait, that might be for another forum...
Professionally I'm a field technician for a technology company (not as glamorous as it sounds), and as soon as DPS decides I'm a right guy, I'll be carrying a Taurus PT-111 MilPro in a Kholster.
Have a nice day.
