Actually, I think it may be a pretty valid test. Would need to take a good look t the sample deck to make sure that there are equal representations in positioning, size, shape, and color on gun/non threat object, etc... but if it is designed to present items in a random order but with a balanced total then it might provide some useful information.

I was actually a slight bit quicker to shoot white guys with guns than black ones, but I was much slower determining the black guy was a non-threat. I would hope that pointed to difficulty making out the threat object in the small pictures rather than some racial bias. At any rate.. I didn't shoot anyone who didn't deserve it :)

That's a powerful point that I didn't even consider. It shows how easily humans can be manipulated, even those who feel they are pretty good at spotting propaganda.

Actually, the instructions directed you to shoot anyone with a gun, so you weren't duped into making an unfounded assumption that gun = bad... it was a given in the scenario.
I think that the title of the thread gets it right... "Threat Recognition Test"
It is not a "shoot-don't shoot" test. I don't think it would be feasible to do that using stills.

I realize that, but the instructions are to shoot or holster your weapon.

Interesting test, however it should be a shoot/no shoot........ instead it was more like shoot with your left or your right hand.
