I decided to give the DPS a call and was given the actual name of the agent working on my application, very nice. I was put on hold and then was told that they just started processing the June application's but I can call back in two week's for a more detailed report. So I do not expect to recieve my plastic before a 90-120 day wait which is not an issue, the DPS is working very hard and they are alway's very courteous and professional .

Called DPS just to get an update and see if my app. had even been entered into the sytem. The lady told me that thEY have it being received as of June 27th and that it has begun the process as of this week. She said to give them about 45-60 days from this week. Wow! That will Put me pretty close to my prediction. Anybody else checked their status that is pretty close to my timeline? Let's hear the updates! Grammy?

My app was received a few days before yours, and I'm still sitting in the dark...

Did you call DPS? I called and she said I wasnt in the system and then she said, "oh, wait. It looks like we started processing your app this week. Call in two weeks and we should definitely give you some type of status. If you don't hear from us it's good news."

there are a few people in the july thread who sent their applications in after mine and are already have "processing application" status

I waited until just recently to call. If you call too early you will definitely start to get frustrated. I believe that the DPS is starting to get their ducks in a row. Don't quote me on that. Heh.

Went online to Denton County website and did my own background check for $3.00.
It took all of five minutes to get results:"NO MATCHING RECORDS.'
This came from DPS Crime Records Service.

so i finally decided to send an email to the dps politely asking about the status of my application after seeing a handful of people have an updated status before i did even though i sent mine in before them

I received my pin this morning... I figure I'll be staring at "Processing Application" for a while....

Hey man thats good news, seems they may have in fact got some extra help with the processing. I see our dates are pretty close. I have not received a PIN, not that that would speed things along, just make me check the status 2/3 times a day.
