I did the online application, did you, KingofDirk?

Naw, I was uninformed and just did the regular old paper method - now I kinda wish I had done some homework first! :waiting: Oh well...

I'm in line! :clapping:
I took the class out at Hot Wells Sunday with Shane Lamar as instructor. Long day for sure... but well worth it and Shane did a great job in keeping us awake and interested the entire day (although it was so pretty outside!). :coolgleamA:
I took the DPS packet I had received last week by registering online the week before and mailed that puppy off yesterday! :woohoo
Now to kick back, experiment with different holsters and maybe add another pistol to the collection while I wait.

CHL Class (passed): 11/23/08
DPS Packet mailed: 11/24/08

I found this forum about week ago and there is a ton of information here.
I took my class on 15 November and mailed it on Austin on Monday, 17 November. They received it at 06.32 on Tuesday, 18 November. As of now my status is still: "Packet Mailed to Applicant".
I know it'll be a long wait, but I reckon that gives me time to shop around for a new weapon :)

I'm buying a new gun to celebrate every change in status... LOL

I bought a Saiga AK this weekend at the gun shop , and I'm shopping around for a Mosin Nagant currently.

If recent experience holds true, you'll be showing as "packet mailed to applicant" for about 2 weeks.

Looks like we've got about the same time frame on our apps being turned in and all. Keep us updated with when you get your PIN and most importantly....your CHL!....until then, you have plenty of time to read all the great info on here! :thumbs2:

Finally sent them a copy of my Naturalization Certificate to prove I am a US citizen since that is the only proof I have. (no passport yet since I never needed one) I hope that is good enough proof.

Finally huh? Now the wait is on for ya! I wonder how long it takes for them to actually review my sent documents or how long I'm going to have to wait now for everything to get moving again...the wait sure does suck.

Just wanted to finally say hi after lurking for a good month or so.

Took my class at Bass Pro in San Antonio on Nov. 1st with Josh Felker as the instructor, even though I'd only had 3 hours of sleep he kept me interested for the whole 1-day class. I got my green stub back from USPS on the 4th, and then received a PIN about a week ago. My status has been "Processing Application" since I first looked at it.

I got my IWB holster from CrossBreed today (based on reviews from members of this board) and have been concealed carrying my airsoft gun all day. Went to work, filled up on gas, and did a little shopping with nothing interesting happening. :thumbs2:

It seems I don't need bigger pants because I'm a 30" to 31" waist and all my pants are 32". The holster fits so well that I've already forgotten I'm wearing it, even occupied with my Beretta .40 and a full magazine (only around the house for now though).

I realize I'm probably one of the youngest guys on the forum at barely 22-years-old, but I have to say that I could not be more impressed by the CHL holders that I've met, both here, in real life, and the CHLers-to-be at the training class. It's truly an honor to almost be among your ranks.

Edit: For some reason I said Cabela's instead of Bass Pro... must be because there's one close to San Marcos where I live

I now keep my rifle in my trunk and am going to purchase an 18.5" barrel shotgun as soon as I have the funds available.
