There is proactive and there is proactive. Jim, you write the best letters to newspapers that I have ever read. In that area, you are being proactive and doing an excellent job.jimlongley wrote:You should give up, Mike, you're espousing being reactive instead of proactive, not a good thing in this political climate.Mike1951 wrote:I give up! I'll repeat what I said a few threads ago. I guess anything is good if it gets the natives stirred up.
I have never doubted that bills will be filed. But I also think Obama may be smart enough not to fulfill many of his campaign promises.
I'm still at a loss to deal with this RighttoKeepandbeararms.com group when they espouse armed marches on state capitols as a means of expression. IMO, that could scare the majority of the populace and set our cause back worse than Obama and his henchmen.
But the NRA and other 2nd Amerndment groups' strength has always been their ability to reach and motivate their members to write, email, and call. IOW, being reactive.
What I fear and what I was trying to address, was posting inflammatory messages about bills that are dead or old or inaccurate info. Should anyone write or call about these, they will only look like fools.
Worse, it makes it harder to recognize the actual threats which require the masses to act.
