Yeah, #33 was one of the two I missed.
High school grad with lots of college but no college degree, yet. (Still working on it after 21 years, lol.)

And what's the point? Is this a chance for people to pat themselves on the back and let everyone know how smart they are? If I only get 1 right, am I stupid? If I get them all right, am I smart? I guess what I'm asking, is what does taking this test prove?

I think the point is:BigBlueDodge wrote:And what's the point? Is this a chance for people to pat themselves on the back and let everyone know how smart they are? If I only get 1 right, am I stupid? If I get them all right, am I smart? I guess what I'm asking, is what does taking this test prove?
When some one like me who is a simple High School Graduate with just a couple of math and Engineering courses scores better (87.x) than most Collage proffessors I think they have made a pretty dramatic point. Are you more knowledgeable than the average citizen? The average score for all 2,508 Americans taking the following test was 49%; college educators scored 55%. Can you do better? Questions were drawn from past ISI surveys, as well as other nationally recognized exams.
A good explaination of how folks have scored is http://www.americancivicliteracy.org/20 ... ding1.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I found it interesting. Others may not.

Liberty got it in one.
It's not a question of smart or stupid. Einstein probably would not have done well on this test, as he was a European and came to the U.S. rather late in life.
It's a question of an informed electorate able to make prudent choices, versus a naive or ignorant public that can be tricked by emotion, made-up facts, and defective logic.
