Hmm, I sent a request for a PIN and received it the same day from Simone, I just got the snail mailed version of it yesterday. I guess it depends on how busy they are. Still "Processing Application" though.

They seem to take 2 to 4 weeks to start processing... but in the overall scheme of things, it doesn't really impact the overall time it takes greatly. Basically I'm saying "what's a week or two either way?"

The PIN# is supplied by DPS. If you did the online app. you should have gotten it.. If not, it will be mailed to you once they start to process your application. Once you have the pin# you can look on their website and see the same message everyday  .

The # your talking about is just your ID number..

I sent my renewal packet in on December 22nd by USPS registered mail, return receipt requested.

The USPS tracking number still shows 'no record of this number' to this day. :mad5 USPS efficiency at its finest.....

Being concerned that the package might have become lost in the mail, I called DPS on January 5th to inquire if it had arrived.

Lady on the phone said "it has arrived, but I am not allowed to talk to you about it until we have had it for at least 4 weeks."

At least I know it is there.

DPS website still shows 'packet mailed to applicant."

USPS still shows 'no record of this number.' :banghead:

Hopefully, I'll have the renewal issued by my CHL expiration date in mid-April....... :sleep

Didn't want to join you bottom feeders but - I are one too.

I've never seen anything but "processing application" when doing status check. When do you see app. complete or some of the other status' as posted here?
Also, I read somewhere on forum that you can "logout" out of DPS status check page but I can't find the button. This action along with fresh login supposedly truly updates current status.

cleared browser files and checked status = processing application
reinstalled software and checked status = processing application
borrowed friends computer and checked status = processing application
formatted HD, installed software and checked status = processing application
bought new computer, installed software and checked status = processing application
borrowed enemies computer and checked status = processing application

What gives?

So, are there any applicants from December that have application complete????? I have been cehcking the site multiple times each day recently. I have been looking at the november apps and doing the math and think that the mine should be changing anytime. I am in Tarrant county and quote frankly am tired of limiting my carry to the house and my car :banghead:

I feel a bit naked when I have to disarm and leave my gun in my van or truck. Well, I have my trusty pepper spray

Still 'Processing Application' here.

Not expecting anything anytime soon...but that doesn't stop me from checking the status about 15 times a day. ;^)

I had to re-read your post, I finally saw the humor, nice. I check at least twice a day, but no change yet either and I'm guessing there won't be for us in Ike territory. Funny, my HOA won't let me use Ike as an excuse to not get my house repaired in a timely manner. Hmmm.

dewayneward, I'm the same way, I only carry where it's legal, home, truck, work, but since I spend 90% of my time there, I feel naked when we go out to eat or shopping. Come on plastic!

HOA's are small, agile bodies. Governments, ... well ... , aren't.

I was fortunate. Ike only changed my landscaping.
Hope yours wasn't to bad.
Having served 7 years on a civic board, IMO, if the HOA is unreasonably pushing you and neighbors around, you and neighbors need to reasonably and collectively push back. Waiting on insurance / FEMA checks takes time these days.

went to library, got a card and computer password and checked status = processing application
