They also attempt to quash what they disapprove of by employing condescension i.e., referring to others as "newbs". This pomposity is their goofy way of trying to establish seniority and "the power" that goes with it. Yeah, sure, those on the board a little longer than others MOST certainly have authority to tell others what's good for them and what isn't. They know what's best for all...and those upstarts better pay attention, by gum... Sounds a bit Totalitarian - Ayatollahesque even.

Us commoners can say anything we want - as long as the presumed gray beards approve... (Sadly for them, it doesn't work this way)

Good for a laugh though!
