There should be consequences - like being required to earn the money he essentially (if not actually) stole. Plus, the money it cost his parents to fly down to Texas, and repay all the other costs he created.

What?

He's only thirteen.

So - He can earn money and use every cent to pay back his parents what his immaturity cost them. Then he can pay back the grief and anxiety he caused his folks by their suspending his privileges.

Too rough?

No.

If he can do all that some find admirable, he can do this too.

Perhaps, the consequences can help put him back on the straight and narrow.
