There used to be (1990s time frame) a company called Texas Longhorn Arms that made a very fine 1873 - patent Colt Peacemaker clone. The man whose company it was apparently either retired or passed away a few years ago.

His revolvers were extra special nice, made of the cleanest / best 4340 steel he could get (and this late in the century, that is saying something - it was steel that Sam Colt never even dreamed about having). I strongly regret not coughing up the dough to buy one of his revolvers... they were special and there will not be any more.

With that said, if this bill becomes law, maybe someone with more money/patriotism/heart than good business sense might just start a similar outfit... and I would do my best to go to work for them.
