Um... no, not unless your state's laws allow it.
And what exactly am I (or anyone else) going to do with a duffel bag full of guns that I won't do with one, Ms Boxer?

As usual, the anti-gunners spouted their typical scare tactics, misleading, and incorrect claims.....which had nothing to do with the debate. The vote certainly did not follow party lines, which was interesting to note.

Ok we didnt gain anything. So the real question here is did we lose anything? Charles Cotton! Are all the agreements between the states that currently have them still intact?

I read where the anti-gunners cite "States Rights" as being ignored if this bill were passed. OK.
Now, if there is any federal bill to limit firearms, are they also going to cite States Rights to get that bill defeated? hmmmmmm......

Wow, reading that made me want to puke. Anyone can do a study and spew out their findings to make it look like CHL holders are all murders.........I saw no mention of what percent those offenders make up of the CHL population. How about we do a study on how many Senators commit crimes, adultery, etc. I bet we could furnish some pretty interesting statitics too.
I'm perfectly happy with the states where my Texas CHL is accepted, I have no need to go to California, New York, New Jersey, or any of the other states that don't recognize Texas CHL for that matter. If the government would approve this bill no strings attached I would be all for it, but I don't think they will ever do this.

I'm glad this failed. SCOTUS said in Heller that the RKBA was an individual right but that States could place reasonable restrictions. This sounds sensible to me. We need less Federal regulation not more. We need to work within State law to get rid of the unreasonable restrictions.
If something like this passed it could be used as a precedent for other Federal mandates. Such as since Massachusetts recognizes gay marriage every other state must too.
Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see US wide reciprocity but Federal Mandates are bad in general let’s not seek to increase them without good cause.

I am glad this one did not pass. I am getting beat up on other sites for saying this. A few have made my same points here already...
- Some states would move to be No-issue states and thus hurting the overall cause.
- Don't need the federal government involved in this. They woud start to standardize and regulate further....
- Some states permits just don't match up.... If you qualify to own weapon you can get a permit without any training and with less restrictions on past criminal activity.
Just my .02.
