Ok ok. I'll think about maybe doing some preliminary, thinking about it...maybe.

Yeah, I'm a closet techno geek, I'm afraid. At one time I was so busy updating my social networks, I didn't have time for an actual social life. Deleted the myspace page, don't really tweet much anymore so I'm down to just facebook. I deal in a bit of social networking at work too though. Used in moderation, it's a great way to exchange information.joe817 wrote:Good grief TLynn! Not you too!![]()

do any of you do the face book thing ?
Now that you set teh parameters, it will probably be the basis for the next game on facebook.killerfly128 wrote:joe817 wrote:NO! I'm not getting a Facebook page!![]()
I hear that not having a Facebook page can lead to diarrhea, cramps, liberalism, erectile dysfunction, and baldness.
One other really bad thing about social networking or text socializing of any kind (i.e. this forum) is that there really isn't an emoticon for sarcasm. Anyone who knows me knows that nothing could be further from the truth. I was trying to make a funny. Obviously, I failed.Abraham wrote:I haven't quite been able to put my finger on it, but Facebook, twitter, Outerspace, et al, comes complete with a creepy, insidious vibe...
As in: "I was so busy updating my 'social network', I had no social life".
One rather red flag wave about the benefits of this dubious endeavor.
Yes, I know, not everyone is so obsessive, but..., that creepy vibe just got a little creepier.
snorri's analysis certainly adds grist to the mill of that ever increasing creepiness vibe.
Perhaps, the collective aura makes my sense of privacy nervous...? Big Brother's smiling on our naïveté equaling unfounded paranoia? I dunno, maybe...
What's wrong with reconnecting with friends or family? Not a thing, yet...somethings off about this whole thing.
Am I a hypocrite? Maybe. I post here don't I, so how different is that?
I'm not sure, but I don't get that off puttingness posting on a forum, that Twitter, Facebook, etc. gives me.
Not a thing. Sounds wonderful, but something else, I've not been able to pin down just isn't right.
I've noticed that , which means I have to be very careful how I word things.TLynnHughes wrote: One other really bad thing about social networking or text socialing of any kind (i.e. this forum) is that there really isn't an emoticon for sarcasm.
Yeah, you really do. Normally, I try to be, but I was kind of funning around with joe and I believe he's read enough of my posts to know when I'm kidding around.USA1 wrote:I've noticed that , which means I have to be very careful how I word things.TLynnHughes wrote: One other really bad thing about social networking or text socialing of any kind (i.e. this forum) is that there really isn't an emoticon for sarcasm.
