I knew you got the 336, and I don't know why I thought you were also waiting on a Ruger M77 to come in? I guess it was either somoeone else here, or someone on another message board...I spend way too much time following gun boards.

Good choice on the leupold for the 336. Together, they should serve you well for a lifetime (or two)

The 30-30 is a fun gun to shoot. I've got a few hogs with mine.

For deer hunting I use a Browning safari BAR II in .270. It was my grandfathers, my fathers, and now mine. I have taken one buck and two does with it in the last three hunting seasons. It seems to have the ability to drop in place, both close range (50 yds or less) and long range (150-200ish) which i like. If i where to buy another hunting rifle i would look at a 270 or a 7mm, even though the .223 ar15 sounds like alot of fun!!!
