Firearms do not shoot themselves. You can place your sidearm on the table and have a stare-down contest with it. Your sidearm will never twitch, shift, or move in any way. Much less fire a round of its own accord.
I have always believed this to be the case in the majority of AD's.mgood wrote:+ another 1Skiprr wrote:+1RHENRIKSEN wrote:99% of those reports are fabricated excuses for a negligent discharge.ed7232004 wrote:Thanks guys but I ve heard lots thing about guns go off on their own without pulling the trigger..or accidentlly drop on the floor

I've no doubt that nearly all of these stories get started when someone has their finger on the trigger when they shouldn't. Then, after the trigger was pulled, they say "It just went off." Who wants to admit they made a really, really dumb move with a firearm?

I had a glock get knocked out of my holster 1 day while I was doing 130mph on my bikeand cartwheeled down the road for a fairly long distance and it never went off. The gun was pretty much totaled
but all 14 rounds including the 1 in the chamber were still there so unless you are going to abuse yours worse than that don't worry. As several of the other guys have said just get a good holster that covers the trigger and make sure it has good retention especially if you are going to get stupid on a back road with a motorcycle and always know where your sraps are when you are putting the gun in the holster.

I think he meant that the Gun fell off and cartwheeled, not himself.03Lightningrocks wrote:
WOW!!!! You cartwheeled down the road after crashing your bike at 130 MPH!!!!! AND YOU LIVED????? Believe me...the gun part of this story is not the miracle. You must have had some serious body armor on. I hope you went to church the next day and thanked your maker for your life.
Oh...that makes sense. I was trying to get in touch with Evil Knievel about this one. I will tell him I misread the story...dicion wrote:I think he meant that the Gun fell off and cartwheeled, not himself.03Lightningrocks wrote:
