Any advice? This truly is getting ridiculous.
Wow, that really stinks

Were they the electronic fingerprints or the old ink style? About the only thing I can suggest is to resubmit using someplace like FAST (
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... rvices.htm) that does them electronically, supposedly much lower rejection rate. Good luck and hang in there.

I agree...and was in a similar situation as you. I have lived in the same county for 26 years, worked at the same place for 10, have nothing in my background, the FBI/DHS turns me inside out and upside down due to my job, etc. I received three really interesting letters from the DPS with the last one being the "best".

Have you contacted your state rep's office? If not, call the DPS and see what the hold up is. From there, call your state rep.
Personally, I think there is someone at the DPS processing office who is either spending more time updating their Facebook page than processing apps or they are anti-gunners who see it as their personal duty ensuring as few Texans get their CHL possible

I called DPS this morning and was told it is processing and then was transferred to the person who was doing my application and of course what did i get VOICEMAIL!! So I just called back about a min ago and was told that the lady has 24-48 hours to call me back so she has time to get my file and look at it and make sure she is calling me for the right reasons!!! Do they keep these applications on the other side of town and can only pick up 1 at a time. I really would not think this would be this difficult with all the other background checks and the like I have been through. Looks like I will be calling my state rep!

The one and only time I have called DPS, The girl who answered said "Is this about the pin numba?" I said no another letter i recieved, She said she would transfer me to the person working my case, guess what? I got the voice mail too, I left a polite message including my name and phone number, and am still waiting on a call back for over a month now!
I understand they probably have alot of work to do, but ...

I would assume if they hadn't called you back within a week they probably are never going to call you back and your phone message probably hit the trash bin a while ago. Have you tried calling them back?

Yeah I figured as much, and nope haven't tried calling DPS any more. I figured I'd just leave em alone, and give them their time, afterall in my case they aren't the only ones involved due to my own HONEST mistake.
Just like my message hit the trash bin, I wouldn't want my app to hit the bin as well.

Odd...now status says "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" ... this after Wonder Woman told me DPS told her the FBI rejected my prints and I should expect a letter within a week requesting new prints. I don't understand...but this seems to be a positive development.

Glad to hear it. Sometimes I think the DPS just automatically tells people they're waiting on a background check or having problems with pix or fingerprints 'cuz those are things they can't control and they figure maybe people won't get so upset. Don''t know if it's true, just sayin'...
