It was about a week before ours showed up in there system online. They are kind slow getting information inputed, and issue I have with them. Then once it showed up in the system it sat there for almost 5 weeks in "firearm arrived waiting for repair".
I did the online ticket and printed 2 copies. Kept one and put the other in box with the gun just like they said to do.

I shipped and returned through a FFL and it only cost me $26.00.
Yup, that's a legitimate option and what I do when I sell a gun. But on a preacher's salary, I'd much rather let Taurus pick up the bill. :biggrinjester:
Glad your wife enjoys it! Your purchase helped to fund my new toy, Kel Tex PLR-22... fun for plinking

Both my Taurus 845 and 745 have had no issues. I myself almost went with the 709 but I wanted to carry a 45. The 745 is my daily carry now....

Just got my 709 back today from repairs in Miami. It was having the increasing FTE issue that has seemed to be a common complaint on them. I also mentioned the gouge that was on the right front of the feed ramp since I bought it. They have replaced the barrel...and oddly the feed ramp is shaped differently. The feed ramp is not as wide and more conical in shape. The work order from them also says they installed a missing part. There is indeed a part I have never seen... it is an oval shaped piece of steel wedged into the frame, so that it hooks up with the new shaped feed ramp. The work order said nothing about the extractor at all, which is what I had assumed the issue to be. So, I will have to wring it out when it warms up and see how she does.

I'm looking forward to the next report. I hope you won't have anymore problems with it.

BTW, to show how behind they are with updating their repair status on the Taurus website (which really is a good idea, just need to update more often) it still says on mine "Received, waiting for repairs" though I received it via FedEx this morn, about one month after having shipped it. Given all of the holidays and how many have sent theirs in, that's really not bad turnaround.

Ok, took the 709 to the range...out of 21 rounds, 4 stuck in the barrel. On their list of repairs, they did not say anything about having replaced extractor. I called them back, and sure nuff, no extractor replacement. I have asked for EdEx to be sent out and this time to replace the extractor. He too was surprised they did not replace it. So, another month wait.....

That's not so great customer service, eh?

I'll give them another chance before I rain on them. Unfortunately, I've had customer service issues with many otherwise great products. Try talking to Punjab when you need tech support on your high dollar computer! The fellow I got today said he would specify to service that they are to replace extractor this time.

Question here, they asked me to return it with a magazine this time. Their notes showed they ran 4 magazines worth of ammo through it after their work and no probs. Since it is having the same issue as before, is it ~possible~ that any kind of mag issue could have done this? Oh well, I'm still sending it to get a new extractor, not like I don't have more guns.

Punjab and me went 10 rounds last week, my ATT DSL went out, I did all the normal stuff, rebooted in the right order, and nothing. So Punjab told me to do the exact same thing while he waited, I said it's all been done, I know it's the modem, he didn't seem to understand. Finally, after 30 minutes he realized it was out and sent a tech. Annoying.

IMO, it could be the mag, but not likely. My status for my Judge still shows unknown, and they've had it for a week and half. Like you said, it's not like I don't have more guns  .

I've got 470 rounds through mine and I've no unexplained issues with the 709.

I've got a couple hundred rounds thru my 709 (in reality, the wife "stole" it and it's hers now) with no malfunctions.
