I got a phone call from Springfield customer service yesterday. They said that they had received my trigger group into the shop and that I will have it back in my hands — with a forged hammer — on Friday the 8th, in plenty of time for my hog hunt.

I just got home from a Bible Study this evening, and my fully repaired trigger group was waiting for me! Today is the 5th, and it came 3 days sooner than they promised it.
I can say that I am VERY pleased with Springfield's customer service and turnaround on this.

Well, if you'd gotten the rest of the trigger group replaced with forged parts, there'd be a chance your gun would work long enough to shoot them.
Wanna borrow my Mosin just in case? Built in boar spear.

More like a built in pole vault in case I need to clear a fence or a creek on a run to the rear.
