But what makes the SCAR or a 416 worth the 3k and not the ACR?

I totally don't think the HK416 is worth anymore than a LaRue, Noveske, or LMT.

The name, to gun snobs its all about the name (That Kimber is much better than that Springfield because it cost XXX dollars more for the same features). I am willing to pay good money for a good product, but $3K is not going to happen unless it has a legal happy switch.

A cryin' shame that they've removed the video from YouTube! Bah!

Champions in College Station had an ACR for +/- $2300 IIRC. It was cool to play with...but I can't take it seriously at that price. I know this is coming from a guy that just dropped that on an LMT - but that's different.

Will I get one - probably after the hype dies down a bit. But it will be "just becase"

I had a link but it just forwarded it to youtube. Someone must have it hosted somewhere where it won't be bugged on copyright grounds.

I searched and found it here.

I found it there too a week or so ago, but check out what happens when you try to play it:

Yeah the ACR is becoming available in 6.8SPC barrel also. It is supposed to be a quick swap type thing.

"And not to insult anyone, but I doubt most game developers have ever heard a real gunshot, much less know anything about lethality."

Good thing that the 6.8 SPC was developed by a MSgt. (I won't embarrass him) from 5th Group in Fort Campbell, KY. He knows a little about the effectiveness of M855 / SS109 on highly determined individuals.

Yeah I found them for under $2k as well. Just type Bushmaster ACR into Google and click shopping.
My posts on this website are worth every cent you paid me for them.

If you ever handle one you'll know why they aren't selling. The thing is outrageously heavy for what it is and comes with a twist rate no one really wants. On the other hand the SCAR16 is deceptively light.

If i could have the SCAR with the ACR looks, that would be a love child i would need to own. SCAR just looks too toy-ish to me and while aesthetics aren't everything, they definately are something! But yes, the twist rate and price are the biggest deal breakers for the ACR
