A couple of thoughts to go with that:
1. I agree. That's why warfare should only be entered into after much contemplation, a cohesive national will, and a formal declaration of war.
2. The justification for use of deadly force should be the same for nations as for individuals.
3. When justified, force should be used decisively, and the goal is to stop the attacker and then quickly and safely disengage.
As for the the original article, it's silly. No one would know these verse references were even there, if not for the publicity. The only possible 1A issue is that they're being issued by the military, but the military can issue Bibles, Korans, and other articles of faith. If a soldier objects to having that obscure verse reference on his scope, his unit armorer can solve the problem in minutes with a dremel or file.

Uh Oh, therein lies a problem. There will always be pacifists,
et al who will oppose any war no matter its national justification. Otherwise, you're pretty much on target....IMO.

Actually I think they are more concerned about what the arabs will think and say about having a bible reference on them. We can't offend the people we are protecting you know!

Nobody cared until those fools who raised the stink brought it up. To me, even as a Christian, it's not about the insult to faith that they've perpetrated. It's about the fact that they have created a very real tactical and strategic problem, which may result in more American deaths, where there was no problem before.
Somebody get a rope...
I'm obviously ignorant here, how does it cause a problem?
I mean if some bloggers get their knickers in a twist, so what?
if inebriated, I might actually admit to agreeing with some of them liberal bloggers about some things, but this is so far off the radar, the cognitive dissonance hurts.
I'm obviously missing something, so can someone fill lil' ole me in?
These things don't happen in a vacuum, and Muslims use the Internet. I explained it in an earlier post, but here it is in a nutshell: 1) Now that it is out in the open, it causes additional political difficulty between us and the (Muslim) militaries which we are helping to train and stand up; and 2) Our (Muslim) enemies will use this to further inflame anti-infidel passion among their own followers. Either or both issues may contribute to additional American combat deaths, and that is a problem.
It's not hard to understand.

Their logo:
One of his website pages says:
Mark is often asked about the origin of the name CrossBreed Holsters. He is not ashamed to answer that, although there is some reference to the hybrid nature of his designs, the larger meaning behind his company’s name references the Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrifice upon the cross which was made for all mankind.
I don't know specifically what is on the back of his holsters, but given the logo and the above statement, it's not too hard to figure out.

Thats the good thing about Free Enterprise, if you want to be Religious, you can, even if it might alienate you from some people.

Well I guess if the Muslims are upset about these Christian guns, we should withhold our Christian money...because it has "In God We Trust" written all over it!

Here's a great response to the whole "secret bible codes" thing I actually caught on a liberal blog I read:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uU6_s9tx ... r_embedded" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Basically, "Hey, they started it." with the whole religious warfare thing.
EDIT: Changed the link. The comments on that liberal blog made me want to punch someone.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations on Wednesday said the continued use of the sights with the religious references would send a negative message to the Muslim world.
Are we not spending American money and lives to send a negative message to the terrorists? As far as the Muslim good guys are concerned, let them police and correct their own and then the bible quoting infidels will go home and have a beer with somebody wearing...er, uh,...a swim suit or something - until such time as there are more attacks on Americans.
My word, what's our country coming to? Everything would be so simple and easy to understand if I was in charge.

I'd want Deuteronomy 20:10-16 I think.
Totaly agree. I'd add Gen 12:2-3.
