I have had bad luck with kimbers over the past five years. Three out of five have had problems for me. My colts have always run fine, from 3 inchers to full size I never had a problem. I bought a Taurus as a cheap shooter to beat up on and it has also performed excellent, nice trigger and features for the money

Don't overlook the sleeper 1911 builder Dan Wesson, if you cab find one. I finally picked up my CBOB after 2 years of waiting. They have regrettably discontinued the CBOB for 2010 and replaced it with the VBOB which is retailing for about $2k. :cryin The only notable change I can see is that is has a forged frame rather than a machined one. I would love to find a matching 45ACP CBOB but they are far and few between and my budget is done for the time being.

The build quality of this gun blows my Kimber away.
