Encouraging.

It is encouraging, especially since the rangers should be aware of the relevant laws if they go to the lengths to publish them on their website--although from what I've heard the rangers in western states haven't had much of a problem with the change in the law. I would like to note that they have incorrect information on 2 of the 3 states--I believe both Montana and Idaho allow concealed carry without a permit as long as you are not within city limits.

They're talking about 18 USC §930, which makes it unlawful to carry in a federal facility, defined as "a building or part thereof owned or leased by the Federal Government, where Federal employees are regularly present for the purpose of performing their official duties." I've seen a press release by the NPS saying that the stand-alone bathroom facilities are OK for carry.

I get this but, how about TEXAS state parks? I looked up a few and unless i read it wrongs guns are a no no... I was a bit confused about that. Please clear this up for me..

Since National Wildlife Refuges are covered under the new law, interested parties are hereby advised that Monday, SCOTUS did Texas and the Nation a great favor by declining to review a judgment which prevented the Texas Water Development Board from damming the Neches River and making a water supply lake out of what will now become a 25,000 acre refuge.

The status of the other two proposed dams lower down on the Neches is not mentioned.

Texas state parks have always been OK with a CHL:

I may be mistaken, but I think a careful read of the law prohibiting firearms in federal buildings states that signs must be posted as to the prohibition. If there are no signs, you would probably beat the rap, but possiblyt not the ride - so to speak. Of course "concealed", is the primary descriptive word in "Concealed Carry".
