Taco Cabana has gotten rid of their non-30.06 signs thanks to a letter writing campaign.
I am getting my pen out to write a letter. We've got to stick together and write an avalanche of letters any time one of these doggone signs pop up or our right to carry will be toast. What good is a CHL if you see one of these signs in front of every business? I doesn't matter if I don't live in Katy Mills. I could visit Katy Mills tomorrow if I feel like it. This sign might not be taking away my right to carry at my local jewelry store or theater, BUT it has taken away my FREEDOM to go to a store or theater in another town in Texas. Taking away your FREEDOM is not taking away stuff you currently do, but it is the taking away of your right to choose to do so in the future, if you so wish.

Therefore, even if you don't live in Katy, I invite you to write a letter stating how they have lost business due to their posted 30.06 sign. Letter writing campaigns have taken down signs at Taco Cabana and you might be surprised find that it'll work elsewhere, too.

Fighting for freedom with my pen (because it is mightier than the GUN/SWORD),

P.S. Please write letters to liberate my local mall, Valley View Mall.

Valley View Mall Management address:

Arthur M. Coppola
Macerich
401 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 700
Santa Monica, CA 90401-1452

Also, write to major retailers at the mall such as JC Penney to have them pressure mall management as they do not want to lose business:
Myron E. Ullman III
JC Penney
6501 Legacy Drive
Plano, Texas 75024 - 3698

If would be best if you wrote letters to Valley View Mall, JC Penny, and called the on-site property manager, but if you are pressed for time, then just write one letter to JC Penney. This is because Valley View Mall may be arrogant and not care about the shoppers since the shoppers are not their customers, but their tenants are. However, if their tenants are irritated at how their policies are causing them to lose business, then they will take down their 30.06 signs.

Also, be sure to call Rob Jackson, the property manager at Valley View Mall: (972) 661-2939
Again, just keep it short and sweet. Just politely tell him that you've shopped there in the past, but will refuse to do so if they don't remove the 30.06 signs to show support for constitutional rights.

My letter to JC Penney reads:
Dear Mr. Ullman, I respectfully request that you pressure Mr. Coppola of Macerich to remove all 30.06 signs in front of the malls that they manage with a JC Penney's in it, especially my local mall, The Valley View Mall. My family will not be doing any shopping at establishments that do show support for our constitutional rights and therefore will not shop at Valley View Mall this holliday season if the signs are not removed promptly. After you replace those 30.06 signs with signs that say, "The UNLICENSED carrying of a handgun on these premises is illegal," then we will resume shopping at JC Penney. Thank you, (my name).

Please keep the letters short and to the point. Thank you.

I believe he is meaning the jewelry store. I may be wrong though.

So do I. The Jarreds at The Rim has 51% signs on the front doors. I would not have believed it if I did not see it myself.
Could you post a picture of it on here? It would be great for a laugh. "rlol"

Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway. I don;t think that was John Wayne. I think that was Larry Storch.

It wasn't Larry Storch, it was Cleavon Little.

I was at the AMC LOEWS at the Fountains last week and it was NOT posted. I looked carefully before strolling in.

The Simon Group (owners of all the "Mills Malls"), have repeatedly shown they don't care about our business. The individual store owners, though, are likely to be much more concerned. Don't threaten, don't talk about constitutional rights, don't be rude: just let them know that you're sorry you can't do business with them until they move to a location that doesn't bar you from entering.

I was wondering when someone would comment on that tag line.

I have a poster on the wall behind me as I type with a picture of John Wayne and that quote with a reproduction of his signature. :thumbs2:

Interestingly enough, the Simon group owns one of the malls local to me, and they only have the generic gun-busters on the doors.

Maybe they put the signs up to get a certain Realtor into their mall

I also have reproductions of three WWII war bond drive posters, :patriot: and pictures of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River at Navajo Bridge.

We took the last two pictures. :thumbs2:

I won't drive all the way down to Katy Mills. As for theaters. Silverado in Tomball is not posted and my favorite is: http://www.theshowboatdrivein.com/ 5 bucks per person two movies from the comfort of your car and using your own FM radio. Most everyone backs the trucks up and squat in lawn chairs and bean bags in the bag though. I can even bring my dog and there are a lot of families with children. It is packed on Friday and Saturday nights during spring and summer. No 30.06 at all. :thumbs2: Plus it is just nostalgic from when my parents used to take all of us kids.

I thought I'd posted one at Texas3006.com but as one can't post pictures there I wonder where the heck I put that.

I snooped around Bass Pro today at Katy Mills. After checking out some XD and M&P pistols, I went over to Bass Pro's entrance to the mall. That entrance is not posted anywhere. I also went around to one of the stand alone mall entrances and realized why I have not noticed that the mall is posted before. As you go through the doors, the sign is on the left on the wall perpendicular to the doors. IMO, the sign should have to be posted on the door but I understand the law doesn't say that.
