I was asked once while still working for a local government office located on prohibited federal property. I just answered " Guns are prohibited on the property" and they went away. I dunno, I wouldn't be satisfied with my answer but I guess it worked for them.

"Yeah, I like to shoot. Why?" :tiphat:

That reminds me of a funny moment with my anti-gun mother-in-law. We were visiting for a holiday and that particular day we had gone out shopping and enjoying a little retail therapy. Our version of retail therapy is hitting up the sports/gun/motorcycle stores - you know "Dad-type" stores. Anyway we bought ammo like any good gun owner does when they see it on the shelf. When we got back to the house MIL asks where'd we go, did we have a good day, etc. We say yeah, rattle off some places and items we picked up and "ammo" was one of them. She stops in her tracks and with horrid disbelief says: YOU BOUGHT BULLETS!?!?

ME: Well yeah. Can't shoot my guns without them.

Being a bit of a wise guy I would have said "No! I bought cartridges!" :anamatedbanana

I thought everyone learned the proper terminology by watching Television!
