We're making progress here. The drawing board is where he should go, not jail.

can2boy ,I think it is presumptuous of you to claim no one has ever seen your hand gun. If your gun has never been exposed even for a moment then you probably have not been carrying long. It's more likely who ever spotted your gun did not over react and call security.

My desire to stay out of jail, compels me to obey the laws; even those I believe to be violating my rights. :tiphat:

However, I don’t feel compelled to enforce them.

I will only say this, and then I am also finished with this thread.

can2boy: can you categorically state with 100% certainty that you have never, ever, in your life, printed? Can you understand that, if you answer in the affirmative, then neither I nor any other member of the board is likely to believe you? If you had printed, should I have called the cops on you if I saw it? Do you think it is fair to send someone who has done nothing to offend you or anyone else around you to jail on your word, and cause him all the attorney expenses, etc., because you think you saw the outline of a gun under that person's shirt? Your reply makes it sound like you believe the rest of us don't care about printing. I think it would be more fair to say that we acknowledge it as an intermittent reality of carrying, take what precautions we reasonably can against it, and then we don't worry about it too much.

There are two things which have elicited the blowback you're getting. One is that your statement was unreasonable on its face. The other is that you are unwilling to retract or modify it. For those who don't share your stringent and seemingly ungracious outlook on CHL, it is already enough to deal with in trying to conscientiously adhere to the law and to make sure that our sidearms are indeed concealed, without having to worry about a "brother" CHLer who would snitch and rat someone out if he saw what he thought was a gun printing under someone's shirt. After all, unless the other person actually shows you the gun (which would be an illegal act), you don't really know it to be a gun. Without actually seeing it, you cannot know. You can only suspect. That suspicion cannot be confirmed as knowledge unless you see the actual gun. Therefore, your seeming willingness to call the cops down on someone, risking sending that person on a ride to the hoosegow, when that person has done nothing to you except to stoop over a little bit while washing his hands in a theater restroom causing his "possibly a weapon" to print against his shirt, would not reflect well on your character if it were true.

Are you sure you don't want to retract and/or modify your previous statement? I hope you will.

Depends on your definition of "printing," and your interpretation of the definition of "concealed Handgun" in CG 411.171

<SNIP
....don't pick up your marbles and go home yet..... I don't think anyone here really cares if you print or don't.... but, I think
you saying you'd call security on a fellow CC'er....well, that kinda tends to upset a lot of folks, me included. The "your 2nd ammendment is showing" comment shouldn't offend anyone. <SNIP>

Well this is embarrassing, I got this the other day at Home Depot in Roanoke. It was late, I was really tired working on a room and had to get a last minute rental tool back. I hauled my fat carcass out of the car and as I stood up, a fella getting in his truck said the dreaded, "Your second amendment is showing." The shirt had evidently worked its way inside the grip exposing the bottom half of the holster. I felt the blood rush to my face as I immediately corrected the issue and nodded my appreciation. Bottom line is, I really appreciated this as I was so tired I may not have noticed it otherwise.

Kudos to The Annoyed Man, for precisely stating his case, and to can2boy, for retracting his statement, once TAM precisely expressed what so many others were trying to say.

That's just a little of what I like so much about this forum. We have mature (mostly) people discussing serious topics (mostly) AND people who are willing to change their minds when introduced to new information. Doesn't get much better than that.

Depends ... Now it it's mine, then that is definitely a felony. :smilelol5:
In your case, it might be a "capital" offense. :smilelol5:
The wife and I were in a restaurant at a window table. While we were eating, a woman bent over in the parking lot to get something out of the car. My appetite suffered.

Now that should be a felony.

They should have a “crack free zone” 2000 feet around every restaurant. :biggrinjester:
