I'll throw this one into the ring, though it's not local....
For excellent fried chicken, if you ever have occasion to visit CA, check out Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles. I was extremely skeptical, but the chicken was amazing...and the waffles were worth writing home about. (the one in compton was the best)
I'm not really that pumped about TX getting an In N Out burger, but if we get a Roscoe's, I'll probably be standing in line at the door when it opens.

These places that serve chicken with waffles -
that seems odd to me.
Let's have some corn on the cob, mashed potatoes,
green beans - not waffles. :-)

Mmmmmm...
Waffles, dripping in butter, blackstrap molasses with a heavy dob of sour cream, and a fried chicken breast on the side. Now that's my idea of a Sunday morning breakfast(or any other day for that matter).

It's maybe not the best but it was the best fried chicken I'd had in a while: Matt's Restaurant and Lounge in League City, Texas. Just thinking about it makes me hungry.

I'm hooked...no rehab for me. I just have to live with my shame and dependency.

from the way you described it, we might have to make it like a group meet.
