How would you be impersonating a LEO when the badge says Concealed Weapon Permit not Police , Security Guard, Texas Ranger, US Marshal, detective, FBI or anything else that means you are LEO? It is just a piece of shinny tin inside a leather folder w/your CHL. It would be the same thing as carrying a piece of carboard wrapped in tinfoil with letters written on it in magic marker. "Don't shoot me!" It doesn't look like a police badge to me. All in all a night in jail is my preference to being "gone" forever in the dark place.

The market verbiage states: Get this official, law-abiding folding Permit Holder especially if you are packing concealed heat. (oh brother...) It's quick identification and LOOKS IMPRESSIVE!

Some of their other sale items come with copy using words like "Ops".

"Ops", huh?

How does this questionable abbreviation fit into the life of the sportsman or is this publication targeting laughable soldier of fortune wannabe's?

There must be a market for these items, but I don't know anyone being enough of a goober to buy one.

Do you?
You mean this one?

Being cowards they don't always come back head on or alone. I figure the BG is leaving in a vehicle equipped with a siren one way or the other. If he ain't hurt and wants to come back later to see if things have a different ending at least the cops will have a name to start searching on.
Ehhh-Either way he'll be out eventually. I'm relying on their laziness to prey on an easier unarmed target.

Why would anybody need to carry a second gun? In case someone trys to steal the first... :coolgleamA:

Almost too many reasons to enumerate, but to name a few: gun failure, ammo runs out, so enable an unarmed friend to defend him/herself, to provide multiple places to draw from.

You don't know if he's still armed or could possibly get up and pose a threat again. I myself, am going to cover him until police arrive for my own safety.
I couldn't agree more. I would not turn my back on, or take my gun off a bad guy that's incapable of running off until the police arrive. I think I would leave the door open, and time my holstering so that my weapon is holstered when LE arrives.

I agree with whoever said that a DPS issued whatever that LEOs recognize would be cool. I think a big fat laminate would do the trick.

It has (infrequently) crossed my mind that one of those badges, attached to my belt, right below my holster, MIGHT stop someone from freaking out if I accidentally exposed my sidearm.

I'm not brave enough to try it though...

I really don't want to have to flash a badge of any kind at all. I really don't think cops should be using the tactic of shoot anyone with a gun.

A secret handshake would be cool!

You know, over the years I've seen a lot of "plain clothes" LEOs and the first thing I noticed was their weapon, then their badge. I see the badge and I figure they are a cop. But honestly, in order to read the text on that badge I'd have to get relatively close to the person and get my eyes level with their belt line, and I'm not keen on invading someone's personal space like that.

The text on the badge could have read "Micky Mouse Bail Enforcement" and I would never know.
