Sorry brother they are my favorites and yes they cost way to much to buy stamp and then build. By the time the stamp comes back from the ATF/Treasury the sting of 400.00 bones has subsided. I got a good deal on both kits and I build myself (FFL07) so in the end I got what I wanted. The wait is killer. Here is my other one SBS and her sisters.

My AK is a saiga as well. Nice guns. Now I want one in 5.45, and 12 gauge...and I want to SBR one or more of them...

Between AKs and wanting to do more with 1911s I'm going to need to find a well paying job..

Either way, surely a .357 isn't going to penetrate as much as a 7.62x39, right?

Obviously anytime you use a weapon you have to consider everything behind the target just in case, but I thought maybe a pistol caliber round would be less inclined to punch through both car doors and keep going....

Either way I think I'm going to take it to the range today and see how it shoots.

According to Ballistics by the Inch you should be getting over 2000fps and over 1200 ft/lbs of muzzle energy from that rifle. I couldn't find anything on penetration online, but I found this interesting discussion on Box-O-Truth.

That's actually a wasr 5.45x39 and it shot awesome i traded for a Bulgy kit when they were still cheap.

Milsurp used to be the way to go for trunk guns until they got pricey.

Oh, that's not my rifle. I found that picture by googling something like "tactical lever rifle" or something. But from the picture, that looks like parachute cord on that lever.

You know, it really isn't that hard to solve the cheek weld problem. Here's what my dad did almost 50 years ago to his Winny '94. I still use it, and it is one heckuva gun, especially with the Hornady LeveRevolution ammo. Of course, he had lots of time back then, and says today that there's no way he'd have the patience to do it again.





I do have the original stock somewhere, though.
