For sheer volume of flying lead try Clint Eastwood's "The Guantlet". Probably the stupidest movie he ever made. Don't misinterpret - I am a big fan of his movies, the ones with a plot that is.

Someone mentioned it above, but the movie "Kick 'expletive inserted here'" was a great action movie. The little girl that played Hit Girl stole the show. If you have not seen it, just watch it for her action shots.

I know! It was sort of anti-tragic though.

Adding to those already mentioned:

Public Enemies
Miami Vice
The Wild Bunch
Under Siege
Taken
Street Kings
The Kingdom
Running Scared

Less shooting but still good:

Bullitt
Thief
The Getaway
The Seven Ups
The French Connection

Enemy at the Gates - probably best sniper movie ever made - true story (Great movie, though they did take a few liberties with the story.) . . .

SWAT - good displays of guns and tactics (Including the part where the guy continued to fire after slide lock? "rlol" )
How about Mr. & Mrs. Smith? Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie as assassins. They actually reload and scavenge weapons when they run out of ammo!
Predator (Don't see many handheld miniguns these days . . .)
Tremors. (Four movies made, all are watchable. LOVE the classic scene in Burt Gummer's basement in the first movie. )

There was the one scene where he had a table full of mags that he was reloading.

But if you believe his shooting, you can believe that his mag swaps were simply too fast for us to see.

I can't believe no one has mentioned "Tombstone" yet. One of the best westerns ever made!

Purplehood wrote:I was simply appalled at the complete disconnect between reality and the screen in the movie, "Hurt Locker". The movie was good if you could overlook everything that happened that had absolutely nothing to do with SOP.
If I had to define the most telling defect of the movie story-line in a simple phrase, it would be "lack of Security". I could go on all day.
Purplehood, that's really interesting. Having never served myself, I don't have the background to compare the movie to reality. If you'd like to start a new thread and "go on all day" about the problems between the movie and reality, I for one would be very interested to read it.

And as always, huge big thanks for your service over there :tiphat: :patriot:

I've seen SWAT 3 or 4 times on cable TV only (edited version). Which part has the slide-lock shooting? Have to watch it again and see if I can spot it.

I love the original "Tremors" great movie. Reba McIntire and the dad from Family Ties really steal the show with their basement.

Ronin was on cable last night. Hadn't seen it since I started shooting. It was mentioned here, so I watched it again. So now I am looking at which gun everyone carries. Naturally Robert DeNero shoots a black 1911. I will have to look it up now as all the shooting scenes are really great.

I forgot about Tremors. Yeah the survivalists are really funny.

The part where Hondo went against TJ. His 1911 was clearly on slide lock. Dude should have checked his magazines before he begin the match. :rolll
