My experience with OC has been mostly to the West in Arizona and New Mexico.
I used to see lots of people in New Mexico up untill they adopted their own CHL law. Mostly I just drive through New Mexico. I put the Hand Gun right up on the seat or on the Dash when I was driving through, to get out and get gas, I would holster it and make sure it was visible when I was driving.. Saw many others doing the same.

In Ariz during the 80s people open carried all the time, I've literally saw people checking their guns when at a bar. Hiking and rock climbing is one of the favorite activities around there, even up near border. People still open carry quite a bit when participating in these activities.. Lots of these grounds are Fed propertys but people still carried, even before the recent clarified it. Most people that OCed that I saw had big ole revolvers with western type holsters. .. Probably with snake shot. Today in Ariz. you don't see much open carry in The Large cities. but one doesn't drive far before they are in the open desert, and people tend to open carry when out during the day.. I visit all along the I-10 and further North, I have never noticed what seems to be a non LEO open carry.

I don't know if Arizona is any more pro gun than Texas, but they do have a deeper tradition of actual Open carry than most states. Even in Arizona OC isn't without its hazzards. One of my favorite Blogs
A guy saw an 80 year old man open carrying at a market what sounds like the big ole revolver that is popular there. He tried to raise a big stink to the management. The guy is a Californian transplant. From what I can see these aliens cause more headaches and misery than the illegal Mexican kind.

Sounds like the only hazard was to the almost terminally liberal guy. Seriously -- his liberalness nearly gave him a massive heart attack. Think of the headlines... "Californian Immigrant Drops Dead from Shock at the Sight of Somebody Not Breaking the Law!"

What you're saying is 100% true, but you're missing the point. Your 2nd A right is a CIVIL RIGHT. Before the civil right marches and demonstrations of the 60's, many pale blacks would pretend to be white to avoid discrimination. They'd "pass as white." They'd sneak into a whites only establishment much like a CHL'er would sneak into a gunbusters sign posted business. However, I'm sure that if you ask any pale black man if he prefers sneaking around or openly walking around as a black man, I'm sure you'll get a unanimous and vocal support for open carry of his ethnicity.

Make no mistake, your civil rights are at stake in this next election. Drive your elderly neighbors who don't drive anymore to the voting booths. Offer to take a loved one out for lunch but make a quick detour to the voting booths before you go eat. Vote. Email and snail mail everyone you know and ask them to vote, vote, vote, because the freedom of posterity is at stake in this next election. I love the United States of America. God bless the USA.
