I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords.
I'm going with this.... After all, not all conspiracies are theories.
Most conspiracy theories are based on some facts, just like most stereotypes are based on a few facts.

Yeah. So in this case, the facts are that A) there is a contrail in the air, and B) it doesn't look like any contrail that someone who hasn't lived on the west coast most of his life has ever seen. Therefore, it is space aliens.

The story was that NASA was collecting air samples and weather data with their WB-57.

Some filks get upset over the smallest of things... Personally, I'd be upset if I saw a single contrail approaching then suddenly reversing course.

I witnessed this once, before they shut down the Austin air base, I saw several contrails approaching Houston from the west, then breaking off to the east. Seems we'd been attacked, (simulated, of course), by the Austin group.
Also interesting that they still get upset, since the RB and RU fly in an out from Ellington relatively often (not to even mention the GlobeMasters, STA's and Vomit Comets). People often "suddenly" discover what's been over their heads for decades.... :evil2:

I don't know if anyone has thought of this but there has been a contest going on for a while that was put on by some group (the name of which I forgot) that said they will pay the first person or group 10 million dollars that gets the first non government/NASA sponsored spacecraft into space. I don't think this is true but it kind of goes along with the theories as to why there was not a report of it being a plane. I am also of the theory that it is most likely a plane that was behind schedule or something of that nature and that's why there is no record of it.

You're thinking about the "X Prize," I believe. That was non-NASA. But, if someone launched a vehicle near a populated area without telling anyone, I'd tell 'em to find another line of work. Just sayin'.... :coolgleamA:

Here's a story where they claim it was a Chinese missile fired from a nuclear submarine, not the contrails from an airplane.
