Gov. Christie is no 2A fan...I'd hope it gets overturned on appeal.

How does that work? Commute does not = Pardon does it? Thank goodness Christie took this action, but is there just a bit more to be done??

Actually he does not want a pardon. He wants to win on appeal and have his record expunged. A pardon implies guilt.

I hope he wins on appeal and files criminal charges on the judge, prosecuting DA and the PD and puts THEM in jail. Then I hope he sues the State,County, City, Judge, Prosecuting DA and the PD and wins a judgment on all counts.

I know this isn't the exact reason the OP was written, but in the SPIRIT of the posting...I got one of those Cheaperthandirt catalogs in the mail...(yes, I know some folks hate them, and some folks like them...I shop around for the best deal of the moment)...the cover said that they were no longer going to be shipping ammunition to California due to the new law on HANDGUN ammunition. The liberal legislature in CA KNEW, or at least guessed, that was going to happen...very few internet/mail-order companies are going to want to ship ammo there and have to decide if the stuff in question is HANDGUN or not...not worth the hassles involved. Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown and his pals are probably laughing up a storm at that one...So, in light of this, I agree, THANK GOODNESS WE LIVE IN TEXAS...and lets' keep it that way! (Texas being TEXAS, that is!)

Then he is an idiot. If a pardon is offered, he should take it.

Regardless of the transport issues and whether he was "moving" or not, he still had self defense hollow-point bullets and high capacity magazines, both of which are felonies in NJ. He can't sidestep those issues. Heck, I've never set foot in NJ since being a gunowner, yet I still knew the they were illegal in NJ.

Those felony convictions means no firearms forever. He should take a pardon if offered,

I haven't the time to look up NJ magazine laws, but both the NJ State Police and Professor Volokh say that you're wrong about hollowpoints.

Provided certain conditions are met, a sportsman may transport and use hollow point ammunition. There are no restrictions preventing a sportsman from keeping such ammunition at his home.

The State of New Jersey does ban hollow-point ammunition -- sort of. It's legal to purchase it, bring it home, take it to the range and practice with it, bring any extra back home, etc. What isn't legal is for any of the very, very few individuals who hold carry permits in the state to carry firearms loaded with hollow points.
