hoping to find a good deal at the George R brown convention center jan.1-2 :hurry:
I'm left handed also, and the addition of a $20 ambi safety selector is all you need. The mag release is already in an optimal place for a lefty in my opinion, and the empty casings kick out forward, so they are not coming back toward your face.

Have you considered building your own AR15? As anyone on this board who has built one can attest, it really isn't that hard. (Heck, if I can do it, anyone can do it. Believe me.) The parts are commonly available. You will save yourself a fair amount of money over buying same thing in the same configuration from almost any other manufacturer. AND, you'll have the considerable satisfaction of owning a rifle you built yourself.

I bought my first AR, a Bushmaster, and built my second one. I'll probably never buy another pre-assembled AR15 rifle again, unless it is one built by someone I know.

How much would it cost me to build my own AR15? i think id be able to do that

You can't really put a set figure on that. Its up to you on what you spend. To test the waters look up all the parts and prices from several venders.
Write them all down and figure what options etc. Then once you are satisfied with your selection of parts start ordering them.
Lots of places but i would try Bravo Co, Spikes Tactical,PK Firearms, Brownells...just to name a few. Its fun man.
Play with this here link to get an idea of what parts you will need...
Lower reciever,Lower parts kit, buffer tube, buffer, spring butstock or just the whole assembly,Castle nut if collaspable stock..
Your upper or parts to build upper, Bolt carrier group, charging handle, sights or optics etc.

If you build one, the only part that will have to go through an FFL is the lower receiver. All other parts can be shipped to your door.

Oh, and for what it's worth I have a 16" Bushmaster that I haven't had any problems with. It's stock except for an EOtech.

I've had my Colt for about 15 years and it's been perfect. And that little thing on the side where it says "Colt" and the little horse, that's just a bonus. In my experience over the last 35 years or so, the times I've bought something else instead of Colt, I've regretted it, when I see what the Colt values do over time.

Lot's of GREAT info . . . Agree totally with the "add $200. and get much more gun" comment.
I bought a Rock River Coyote and LOVE it ! Spent right at $1,000. but it has been worth every penny.
