The new True Grit was great. Mrs. Anygun did not vare for it but since Meg Ryan was not in it and it was not on the Wimmins Network I thought it rocked.

I really liked No Country for Old Men, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, and a few of their other earlier efforts, but I just couldn't make myself sit through The Big Lubowski all the way, even after several attempts. But I think that True Grit just may be their very best effort yet, and it stands as one of my favorite movies. I highly recommend seeing it.

thanks for a review, just may have to take the better half out now
the big lobowski was hard to grasp.....even after numerous viewings
i did watch it once after a surgery, still a little out of it and it sort of flowed

Saw it this past Monday with the family. We all thought it was a really good movie. I'll see it again on dvd for sure.

I really enjoyed this Movie.
The dialog was quite notable. I loved it.
Matt Damon is a simpleton. He can act when he wants to. He did well in this movie.
According to my 15 year old son, the little girl is portrayed by a kid that has done Target commercials in the past. I think she has a bright acting career ahead of her.

Make that three of us - saw it two or three times. It doesn't seem like 15 years ago - time flies when your having fun and the older you get.

To each his own. If I let Hollywood's political views decide whether or not I ever went to see a movie, I'd never go see movies. Unless the movie's subject is a repudiation of all I hold dear, I'm not going to let an individual actor's misguided notions about life and politics keep me from seeing it - anymore than I am going to take their political advice or follow their cultural standards (of which they mostly are lacking).
It is still a great movie, and there is nothing wrong with the story.
A guy that goes to the same Bible study that I do worked on the film. I’ll be making a point to see the movie in the theater (which I very rarely do these days). There are other people involved in the movie industry besides the actors.

Also the only movie I ever saw where ALL of the deleted scenes on the DVD needed to be in there.

Of course we won’t mention
Battlefield Earth. Even his great acting couldn’t save that one.

Finally got to see it. Definitely a great movie. I think Damon was good but the role could have been better played by someone more in touch with the south.

I definitely agree on your #1. You have to love the line where the Sheriff says "Mister, you just shot an unarnmed man", and Eastwood replies with "He should have armed himself....."
Unforgiven is on my short list of best movies (across all genres). I have less than 10 movies on that list, but I can't really pick favorites or rank order them. Just know that I love them all.
Sounds like I definitely need to see True Grit.
