I read them both later in life than 14 but, interestingly enough, around the same time. Maybe that is why I'm so warped.

Still haven't seen it...making plans to try and get to a showing next week.
For the record, I thought both Atlas Shrugged and Lord of the Rings had a bit of extra fluff in there. I skipped over all the songs in LOTRs, and it took quite a bit of effort to wade through the entirety of John Galts speech on the radio.
Maybe I'm just an impatient reader.

I just hope parts 2 and 3 are at least made if not already in the tank...at least they should be made on and released straight to video to complete the story.
I just recently bought the dvd at a close out sale from blockbuster.
I liked it.
we should all expect the leftist media to slam it.

It says that production should start early this year. I'll believe it when there is confirmation of that start. It would be a shame to not finish it but Part 1's expected lack of blockbuster success probably has some part in Part 2's status.

I was in my 20's and living in CA when read the book. It made a lasting impact on me. Can't wait for the movie.
