Typical strategy by opponents of civil rights.

Remember the chubbing marathon last year to block gun rights and voting rights bills.

Yes, I was told that at least in the house chinning won't be an option under the rules this session... but there were other ways to run out the clock.

It's on the agenda again today. Don't know when they'll get to it.

Here's the link again: http://www.senate.state.tx.us/bin/live.php

Had to go get groceries. Hope I didn't miss anything.

Have Lucio and Hinojosa been doing their mini-filibustering thing on bills?

I've got the video feed running in background and checking it from time to time. But I keep getting angry :mad5 everytime I see one of the SB 354 opponents (Lucio, Davis, Watson) up there talking about some other bill. When is our side going to start chubbing all of their bills until one of them relents and sends SB 354 to the floor for an up-or-down majority vote?

I know I know, "patience young Jedi" ... just aggravating to watch :grumble

Lucio and Hinojosa yapped a while earlier

Now it's the second Electricity P.U.C. bill ... the last one, after much discussion, got "tabled"

This bill is about allowing someone to change electric companies if they agreed to pay of their old bill ........... probably doesn't affect THAT many people.

Ok it got tabled too

Looks like they are just voting on amendments to bills

Yea, thats the feeling I was getting as well, Sen Davis apparently wants to stall some 'other bills' today,
How the heck does she 3 or 4 different amendments (so far) that basically say the exact SAME THING!

We need a much better government system, .... yes, I know... .what would do? Well, nothing really, as we would have to kick out ALL current politicians and rewrite ALL of the procedures of the House and Senate

My sister in law has been watching several times with me and is amazed anything gets done other than the resolutions calling it "Corpus Christi day at the capitol" and introducing visiting school children. Wonder how they ever managed prior to each having a "Laptop" on each desk ...

Amendment 7 tabled too

If "everything" is "tabled" until 354 is reached ...

I'll have this forum on my phone in case they start debating it while I'm gone.

Yep; this last one of hers on the issue, Amendment 7, seems to be the only one that's different.

Lucio and Davis haven't had much luck so far. All their authored amendments that they've argued during the past hour have seen a vote to table. Let's hope their luck continues on the same course when our 2A issues come up...

wonder why Wentworth didn't call SB 354 Healthcare for Texan on College Campuses? :evil2:

Heck, every pro gun rights bill ever introduced is really about caring for the health of honest law-abiding citizens.
