From the article TAM posted: "College student Olivia Lurrie, 18, said Weiner was a good leader who made a mistake."

This is one of the 56% of his constituents who say he should stay. It is also from someone that, IMHO, wouldn't know a "leader" if they fell over one. Much of the current generation place no value on honor and dignity as part of leadership. If you disgrace your office/position/yourself - you leave!

I'm with G26ster. When your are in a position of public office, you become a magnet for spotlight. When you do something discraceful such as this, you discredit yourself and bring shame on your name.... and here is the kicker that no one seems to care about --PROVIDE A TERRIBLE EXAMPLE FOR YOUNG KIDS TO FOLLOW. Kids look at Weiner and say... well if a public official can do something like this, I dont see what's wrong with me sending Jenny a picture of me in my underwear. And we wonder how things have changed so much as far as our morals are concerned? Come on. Who cares if he is a good leader? He lost face by doing stupid, immature, and unacceptable.

Don't you first have to have "standards/ethics". I think this is where many liberals (not all) differ greatly from conservatives. We have very different standards.

This guy is simply a topic to distract the American public from things such as, "Issues".

It also points out another deficiency in reasoning I've never understood on the part of some people......Wiener, and any other congresscritters for that matter, don't get sent to Washinton DC to "lead" us. They get sent to "represent" us. The former implies that we need to be told what to do (leftist thinking). The latter implies that all power resides with the people. And that is why Weiner won't resign. He thinks the power belongs to him.

He'll probably be re-elected and be made chairman of several important committees.
As long as he is exercising his First Amendment rights at no taxpayer expenses, I could care less. Not something I would do but it he has his a right to do it as long as the recipients are not complaining. Prior to 24 hour news coverage and instant updates via the Internet, how much behavior--like this--took place? However, he better leave my Second Amendment rights alone!

Ya know, if a PORN star says you should resign because they have a problem with your moral values, then you have just about hit rock bottom!
