Congrats on the 74. I'm about to order me one of these http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =236331462" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; :coolgleamA:
To rich for my blood especially for an ak, but it is a good looking rifle. Still waiting.

Buy once cry once. Funny thing is I've have 3 crates of 5.45 and a dozen mags for years and no rifle to shoot it. Hopefully that'll end soon

During the Obama scare I actually sold 7 crates of 5.45. I could pass up what the guys were offering. It's very sad to see the box with a dozen bakelites in the top of my closet all alone

You ever seen a slab sided Yugo underfolder? There's no bulge inthe trunion so it uses the regular receiver that you would build a G on. I built one a couple of years ago.

I got what I am guessing is a century bulgarian at wideners (no brand listing). It's my first ak, so for the price I don't think i did to shabby and I still have money left over for the the arsenal sgl 21 I almost bought before I found this one. If it is a century I saw the exact same model at a local shop here and it looked really nice with a decent fit/finish, no wobble and had a nordak spud receiver, only prob I saw was the 700 price tag for it.

I keep trying to decide if I want to order one from Wideners, order the one I linked in this thread, or just build me a Saiga. Arsenal's aren't bad but have you considered converting a Saiga? Then you can use what ever parts you want. My last build I converted a Saiga 12. I added a side folder, HK rifle sights, vented gas tube cover, extended mag release, AR15 type mag well, and some other stuff. I can't decide on a forearm so I left that stock for now. I named her "Dude Shooter"! :patriot:

Well i figure if I like the platform then I will probably buy or convert one but sub 400 bucks for a bulgarian I figure the risk to reward was good enough to try this one out. Plus if it works out I still have money left over to buy another.

No, I haven't seen one yet - got any pics? I'm waiting to see what stock I'll be getting before I can choose a receiver, though (long story - someone else has the stock).
I think the kit pics were deleted out of my photobucket account. I'm not sure which safe she is in but I'll start looking tonight if the baby is in a good mood and snap a few

So I got the rifle in this evening and got to field strip it and clean it. I will post my initial thoughts and pictures will have to wait till sunday. It was a century as suspected but thats still not a deal breaker for me especially for the price. I'll start with outside first then the innards.

Outside
1. Parkerized coating is even and looks pretty nice.
2. Everything fits tight with no wobbles
3. Furniture is in good shape but just ok and comes with nato length stock. (I'ts got to go I've got short arms)
4. Furniture feels solid and is all black but you can see some swirls in the polymer. You have to look really close to see it almost like it is fiberglass reinforced.
5. The muzzle breake looks cool and fits well easy to take off and on.
6. All sights are straight and in really nice shape.
7. Some gritty stuff allover sights that took awhile to get rid of.

Inside
1. Barrel is chrome moly - not a game stopper in my book since I have to have windex for the mosin anyways.
2. Has nice rifling, lands and groves from what I could see look clean.
3. Inside the receiver had a ton of gritty stuff in it that took along time to clean out.
4. Trigger is a tapco g2 and is really smooth.
5. Gas rod and bolt are smooth operating after grit was taken out and lubed with clp on some parts and frog lub on others.
6. Spring had same grit so I scrubbed and lubed it with clp
7. Receiver and Cover fit nicely together no play in it.
8. Gas tube and upper hand guard was tight fit no wobble.

Mags.
Looked new the black one was circle 21 stamped and the plum was circle 25 and both looked unused.
No mag wobble.

Without shooting it first impressions are its a decent looking rifle for the money and all parts within what I expected except for the gritty stuff.
So now all I have to do is wait to shoot it. Hopefully its just a couple of days.
