One thing for sure about Rick Perry, he is definately pro gun. That means a lot to me. That alone should unite us on TCHLforum in support for him.

I wonder if Al Gore will campaign for Perry as much as Perry campaigned for Gore when he ran for President back in 88?

We need a "like" and a "dislike" button to select on this site. That being said from a "Texan", I think Rick Perry is in the pockets of the "rich folk".
I have never voted for him as governor, and I certainly will not vote for him as POTUS.
I appreciate his supposed support for gun rights but, I think he is ultimately a religious right wing nut case.
Did any of you support his idea of making it mandatory for your daughters to get the HPV vaccine?
Sorry if I am stepping on some toes, but Perry is not the man for the job IMHO.

Perry vs. Obama........ let me think a minute.... i'll vote for Perry. Personally, I think I would make the best presidential candidate, but I don't think I would get elected, and I just don't have time.

If you and Perry were the choices, I'd vote for you.....

Its cold comfort and it doesn't really help, but I'll be blasted to Hades if I will let any of this be dumped at my feet, no matter how small a bit of it, because I didn't vote against it. If Gov. Perry gets the nomination, then he will have my vote...same for Mitt Romney. I don't care for the policies and ideology of the current administration, and will gladly vote for whomever the Republicans nominate. This nation CANNOT take four more years of this kind of goings on...just my 2 cents, IANAL, YMMV, and all that other disclaimer stuff.
Oh, and I agree with G26ster that a lot of those articles where the Governor has been slammed for various things, have come from either left-leaning, or fully leftist sources. The A-A Statesman...*smh*.

I don't normally talk about politics but when the subject does come up my reply is "I did everything I could by not voting for
him"

Tim Pawlenty is out. One down.

The comments about Perry in this Boston Herald article are interesting.
Not as bad as I expected.
Considering how liberal Mass. is and that Romney is from Mass., the article is more factual than biased.

I think the nation would see Perry as Bush the Third and therefore, don't think he has a chance on the national level. Which is okay with me. I'm not a huge fan.
But I do have one question. If Perry is elected as POTUS, can Texas still secede?

I believe Rick Perry has changed as all politicians through their careers must. I believe him to be fully for state's rights, I don't believe anyone can complain about his 2nd Amendment stance, which for me is the tie breaker. My friend met Rick Perry at a gunshop last year in Austin, and he was by himself. Although there are complaints that Texas under his administration hasn't increased well paying jobs, Texas has more jobs than most if not all other states. He appears that whatever N.Y, CA et al does is their business but we shouldn't be held accountable to their welfare status. With all politicians one can find problems, but with Rick Perry at least, I feel you get the real deal. I have read where he supported Gore, got it. But, if you remember Texas at that time it was Blue Dog country no doubt. People state he is a Right Wing Christian, heck that makes him even more an attractive politician. I really despise when Christians must leave their religion at the door while others don't have to. He is a Conservative, Right Wing, Christian, 2nd Amendment, State's Rights Texican. Says it all for me. One can find problems with anyone's past...I personally will support Rick Perry above and over anyone else running and hopefully I will remain vocal in that support. Heck I even hope he picks someone from Texas to be his running mate, or at least from one of the several contiguous states.

I don't care, is the Bilderberg anti-American? My research suggests not. I would not believe Perry is part of Agenda 21, as it is in direct conflict with what you state he is a part of, the Bilderbergers. I would rather my politician be aligned with a pro-western European rich man's type of group than with a Marxist group, such as our present POTUS. I could probably guaranty that politicians are aligned with some type of group at least at the beginning of their careers. Shoot, I want my Son and therefore my bloodline to become wealthy, not poor. So, according to most media types, who by the way make millions, we must strive to be poor and fully egalitarian? Impossible I say, someone will be in charge. I am an American Capitalist Christian, not Communist. My idea of Christianity rules me by the way, not others repost of what they believe the Bible to say.

Sadly this is the thought in recent years. The President stated as much during his campaign.
However, the political class is exempt from such changes.
So is the Professorial class...
And the Union class...
And they are in charge and redistributing as much as possible in this window of opportunity they have had.
I pray to God that this is over in 2012 and America gets back to being the great nation she was born to be.
