Tell them "No". I do and they have never argued.alvins wrote:Dave2 wrote:What'd you read?rp_photo wrote:I was expecting the worst based on what I've read about others' experience at Fry's.
like what their excedingly bad customer service and being searched at the door like your a criminal?
What do you think "search" means??? It is a huge pet peeve of mine to be treated as a potential thief after visiting your business. I will not be "searched", period. No business but Sams has ever had an issue, they called a cop working there off duty on me and he told them there was nothing he could do unless they had reasonable suspicion.03Lightningrocks wrote:You folks using the word searched are putting a huge misconception out there. They are NOT searching anybody coming or going from that place! They are simply asking to look in the bag of merchandise you have purchased to make sure it has all been paid for.
We had one of those when I worked at Officemax for that very reason, except we gave the used item discount. The machine used a different kind of plastic so you could tell if something had been rewrapped by feeling it.rubiconjp wrote:The Fry's in Austin has a plastic wrap repackaging machine so I am a bit leery about buying computer stuffs there as I had read that they would repackage some perfect conditioned returns(i.e. no missing items) and sell them as new (not discounted).
I can usually tell the difference in factory packaging and the shrink wrapped returned packaging. Sometimes the discount is good enough to make me buy the returned item. They give the same warranty as a never returned item. It seems lately they don't give enough of a break in price for me to buy the returned item.Dave2 wrote:We had one of those when I worked at Officemax for that very reason, except we gave the used item discount. Of course, that bit of insider knowledge only applies to the Officemax in Walnut Creek, CA (and it's over a decade out of date), so who knows what a different company uses in a different district eleven years later.
I'm surprised some of you guys ever leave the house at all. Fry's isn't in River Oaks, but it isn't in a terrifying ghetto.alvins wrote:i goto frys all the time in houston area. Ive never seen any gun signs at any of them. Personally the one on 59 isnt all that safe. It is next to a really bad area.I would carry personally. and besure to lock your car with nothing valuable showing.
