Houston-Dwellers, I need advice!

Just as a referance as to what rents are going for in my neck of the woods. A remodeled duplex a few doors down from me put out a for rent sign today. It is a 1 bedroom with a study, 900 sqft apartment with a fenced backyard and is $500 a month. They have a lawn service and utilities would probably be less than $200 a month. It is close (<15 minutes) to both UH and Rice.

That's good. We're looking for a 2+ bedroom, so as moving time draws near I may hit you up to ask about any rentals in your neighborhood. That sounds great so if there's anything similar for rent next summer...we'd love to take a look! :)

We live in Eastwood which is just East of DT. The new hip name is EaDo (East Downtown) I can see the skyine of downtown from my front porch. It's mostly homes and duplexes built in the 30s and 40s with more and more 3 story townhomes being built. Think Heights 10 years ago.
