I was a BBS operater long time ago, and trolls weren't really much of a problem as was limmiting open piracy and phreaking. Usenet is the real Trolls live. I never thought of the trolls themselves being a real problem. Its the people who bite the bait and follow up on them that create the havoc. A well laid troll can be kinda funny. The endless bickering and accusations that often follow can be a bore.

When a troll posts like this, it is probably better to simply delete, or go into lockdown mode. She/he comes in, leaves an inflammatory post, then does not come back. In the meanwhile, we start generating pages of responses about what a nitwit this guy is instead of talking about what this forum is all about.
