Sadly, I had stripped down to just Roadrunner, no cable tv, nothing, and I was happy as could be. I was finally watching all those dvds, playing all those video games I never got around to cause of work or shooting, etc, but the fiance just couldn't live without it so...it's back in the house. I was really enjoying the extra ammo money too.

Did you ever try your cable when you only had roadrunner? I'm not talking about a cable box. I mean did you ever plug the coax into your TV? You should have still had basic cable. Its embedded in the signal coming to your house.

Stereotype much? Just yanking your chain.

Thanks for the headsup RE: Time Warner. They're here in El Paso too. I watch NCIS,(I've got a thing for Abby,) and I like to sit down in the evening and watch the tube. I go to bed after 'The Simpsons' usually.

Grande communications is headquartered in
San Marcos. Its a pretty good outfit- at least as good as Time warner and is not run by leftist internationalists. The staff and management at the HQ are very efficient people.

Your right Mec, but for some reason, this darn apt complex is contracted only with TW :(

I ditched TW cable for Dish Network...

What a surprise... discovered I not only saved money but got a much better picture, better channel selection and reliable service.

Dish Network regularly offers a special in which they provide four tuners installed in four locations in your house at no extra cost.... works very well.

Cable is obsolete technology... I don't regret ditching TW at all.

FWIW

Really? Well I don't recall my "obsolete technology" ever going out or fuzzing even once during the winter blast we just had. I didn't have to go out and knock ice off of my cable to get a picture either.
I'm not insulting your choice. Please don't insult mine. They both have their flaws and benefits. I like mine because I get a great picture and internet over the same line for 24.99 a month. If I wanted internet over dish, it would require a $400 receiver and roughly $80 a month in additional internet charges alone. Along with the fact that is only marginally faster than dial-up. No thanks. I'm pleased with my choice.
