Ironically, the Martins could have sued Zimmerman if he hadn't been charged. Now if he prevails in his self defense claim, they won't be able to sue.

Stroo, I'm not so sure about that.
First off, I don't believe Zimmerman has any money that could be recovered.
Secondly, there is a provision in Florida's SYG law that basically says: If a civil action is brought and the court finds the defendant to be immune based on the parameters of the law, the defendant will be awarded all costs of defense.
That's the way it looks to me anyway.

The prosecutor's office should hang its head in shame.
I'm with you Excaliber! That affidavit is absurd.
Chas.
I guess that's good news for Mr. Zimmerman. I just hope when this case is dismissed they don't try to go the violation of civil rights route.
If I were Mr. Zimmerman, that is the route I would take against the prosecutor and any federal prosecutor who tried to horn in.

Violation of civil rights under color of law. She's looks a lot more guilty of it than Stacey Koon ever did.

Fat chance of that happening.

Like they say in the old movies, "The fix is in."
