...in the jungle, the elephant sits where it wants to...I doubt that the Federal government will end up saying "Oh, we're sorry, we were wrong"...they may end up dropping the charges...with recriminations for those who were loudest in protest...

TAM, that is my question as well.....

Would posting the gun facing the muzzle [front view] be any different?

The posting isn't a crime, but if you were a convicted felon, you could be confessing to possession of a firearm. That would be probable cause for a search warrant and subsequent arrest.

Is it over 18 years of age?
Actually 17 in TX.
actually no it is 18 years of age, not 17
if it was a military individual in military housing they are gonna pay the price, DOD restricts firearms as being a harzard and should be maintained by either a rod and gun club or within the armory, they can enforce this in any manner they choose, they can go thru the federal law system or under UCMJ and make it stick.
Actually no it is 17.

Hoping for some good dialogue I could use in explaining why it isnt...
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

There is no such DOD regulation that I am aware of, never seen it, nor seen it cited, referred to..
if you believe you know of such a DOD reg, please post it.
a Post commander (Army, no idea what the AF is doing these days) can and has made such silly regulations, and they are over turned by JAG, and or changed as soon as that commander PCS's if not sooner.

AR-190-11 directs post commanders to establish the program for safe and secure storage of all weapons possessed by anyone on post to include military housing as well as all military pesonnel in the civilian sector.
so therefore JAG cannot circumvent this regulation as it also provides for punitive action for refusal or circumvetion of this regulation. all military installations have a weapons possession policy that is currently in effect. this regulation is mirrored by all branches secondary to a DOD requirement.

All true, and nothing in AR-190-11 requires weapons to "should be maintained by either a rod and gun club or within the armory,"
Thank you for supporting my point, there is no such regulation as implied in that post.
In Example, on Fort Hood, current policy; FH-190-11 states in part "Firearms can be stored in Family housing, bachelor officers' quarters
(BOQ), or bachelor enlisted quarters (BEQ) by authorized occupants."
IF, the military persons in question are service members living in the barracks, then, yes, they must be stored otherwise "Military personnel who reside in troop billets or transient quarters shall and immediately store firearms and weapons in the unit arms room.

The only people that get upset over pictures of guns are school administrators. They also get upset about...
Finger guns
gun-shaped pizzas (and other foods)
stick-figures holding stick-guns
drawings of guns
kids going "Bang!"
kids who's parents have guns
Gun shaped jewlery and belt-buckles
toy guns (of all types)
NRA Magazines
Gun Magazines (both the paper and the metal types)
And much, much more!
