I just got done putting two coats of sealant on it last night, it is REALLY slick, slicker than the other parts of the car that were just waxed Saturday.

I've been wanting to get some track time, I come from a drag racing background but I'd rather get this car where it belongs - on the twisties, it's purpose-built for track duty (yet very streetable) - has dry sump motor, different gearing (6-spd manual, different ratios than the "normal" Corvette), stickier tires, different suspension (also has magnetic selective ride control - you can feel the difference between "tour" and "sport"), etc...
Are they still doing Aggiecross at Texas World Speedway? That was a lot of fun in the mid- to late-80's. A friend of mine and I had 1979 T/A's. I didn't race mine because it was stock (heavy & slow) but my friend raced his after some suspension and engine work. He also raced his corvette. I remember working one of the 1st turns when it had just rained. It was a nearly 90-degree turn if I remember correctly. Never saw so many nice cars slam into the ditch. :cryin

hi-power: I've only autocrossed in the DFW area, and that was at Pennington Field (Hurst). The majority of my racing was of the straight-line variety...except for the offroad stuff with Jeeps and motorcycles.

dozer - it can be pricey, you can get a clear bra installed for anywhere from a few hundred $$$ to a few thousand $$$$ depending on the type of film, the installer and the amount of coverage.

I've never spent more than $800-900. If you're spending less than $500 installed, you're likely not getting great quality film or installers, or both.
If you're just doing the front of the car, and mirrors, etc, it shouldn't run more than $1K.
