I think you've misinterpreted that emoticon -- or maybe I have... :smilelol5:
"Communicating. Keeping up foreign relations. You know..."
Nice Goose reference. :tiphat:
But we're you flying inverted and taking Polaroids of the inside of their aircraft?

Don't believe everything you hear on the radio. The Wikipedia link above details that Biden was born in 1942, got his JD in 1968,
and was admitted to the Delaware Bar in 1969. So your source would have you believe that Biden took the bar 11 times in a 1 year period
if that is even possible. Take the bar once a month?

He became a US Senator in 1972, at age 30, and despite the deaths of his wife and some of his children in a car accident, he went on to
have a long Senatorial career.

Joe may be accused of being a dummy - but becoming a US Senator at age 30 seems to show some gumption and drive.

george:

The problem with any information that we hear/read is that none of us can be 24 hour a day fact checkers.
In the course of political speeches, campaigning, and media discussion, there are so many statements, mis-statements,
omissions, mischaracterizations, selective quoting, and even the pure lie, that it is easy to simply side with whoever
we like.

The X Files TV program used to say "The truth is out there" but I think it's so far out there that we can't know what it is. :-)

Although failing the bar 11 times is possible, it has the ring of the overblown hyperbole that is heard on a constant
basis.

Any political adversary is to have anything attributed to them, since a discussion of values/actions is too boring.

"Thou shalt not bear false witness against your neighbor" - This is so important that God make it one of the Ten Commandments.

Quote from Captain Obvious - there are a lot of stupid smart people in this world and there a a lot of people that other think are stupid that are actually pretty smart.

John Nance Garner described the VP position as not worth a "bucket of warm xxxx", which was euphemized as "spit". I'd say John Nance Garner a was pretty smart fellow. He was a respected politician and accomplished in life. Having become Speaker of the House he made a decent run at becoming President, but cut a deal with FDR to be VP. I don't think idiots become Vice President of the United States. Why we denegrate the men that occupy the second highest office in the land is a mystery to me, but there is a lot of help from the media. Dan Quayle was vilified for correctly reading the word potato off a flash card as potatoe. That is was incorrectly spelled on the card was never mentioned by the MSM. He had a good legislative record in Congress and is no dummy. Compare the lack of reaction by the media when the current POTUS said there are 57 states. :headscratch LBJ certainly wasn't dumb; shrewed, conniving, dishonest, but not dumb. Richard Nixon wasn't dumb. He was as unethical as a Mafia Don, but not dumb. The current VP is a verified liar, plagiarist in law school and as a presidential office seeker, a chronic mis-stater of facts, but does that make him dumb?
I don't think Joe Biden's dumb any more than the VP's before him, but if you could ask John Nance Garner he'd probably say you have to pretty dumb to take the job.
What is dumb is allowing pundits and the media to influence how we perceive individuals instead of taking the time to personally vet them.

Shocking, Yet True Statistic - 50% of all people have below-average intelligence.

Reminds me of a funny quote I once heard "Just think how dumb the average person is and then think that half the people out there are dumber than that" -George Carlin (I think)
